Press release, Nov. 1, 2013

PORTLAND, Maine - Attorney Terry Garmey, principal at Terry Garmey & Associates, has earned the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards from Martindale-Hubbell.

Martindale-Hubbell, a division of LexisNexis, conducts peer review ratings throughout the nation and bases results on the confidential opinions of lawyers and members of the judiciary. Garmey was recognized as "AV Preeminent" for 2014, meaning that his peers ranked him at the highest level of professional excellence.

"I'm honored by this recognition," Garmey said. "The fact that this rating comes from my peers, members of the legal profession and the judiciary for whom I have the utmost respect, means a great deal to me."

Garmey has fought on behalf of plaintiffs for more than 30 years. He is the only lawyer from Maine to be invited to the Inner Circle of Advocates, an organization comprised of the top 100 plaintiff lawyers in the U.S. He has achieved numerous seven-figure settlements and verdicts. Garmey launched Terry Garmey & Associates (www.garmeylaw.com) in Portland, Maine, in 2011.

Garmey is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, a founding member of the Maine Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and served on the Professional Ethics Commission of the Board of Overseers of the Bar. Terry has lectured locally, regionally and nationally and has discussed legal issues on The Today Show, Good Morning America, The Early Show and on numerous national radio programs.
